About
MotherShip Studios is a women-built, owned, and operated art space in Central Texas founded in 2020. Located inside an industrial warehouse park along San Marcos Highway 80, we offer affordable studio spaces for local artists, and various community programs hosted inside a 360 sq ft gallery space with eight surrounding artist studios. In 2023, MotherShip Studios developed the first San Marcos Studio Tour as part of their annual programming efforts and is currently producing the 3rd year of the studio tour.
MotherShip Studios’ mission is to provide affordable studio spaces and embolden the local arts community in the greater San Marcos area. Our team includes working artists, professors, university students, curators, and art advisors. As one of the only studio spaces in the area, our programs consist of geared efforts to unite the local art community, including Blast Suppers, the San Marcos Studio Tour and other events in Central Texas. Through our 501(c)(3) non profit fiscal sponsor, The Museum of Human Achievement, we are able to accept tax deductible donations and all proceeds go towards supporting our mission goal.
