Happy New Year from MAB!
Published on December 31, 2021 by Jenna L

If you are in the Seattle area, we hope that you are staying warm and staying safe.

The majority of Mutual Aid Books Members are on break until the new year, and we are excited for what 2022 can bring us. We are incredibly grateful for the support and solidarity that has been shown to our project over the last year, and we are excited to continue our work in 2022.

Over the past year, we’ve distributed thousands of books: at our Station Coffee pop-ups; through food distribution collaborations with Uprooted and Rising, South King County Mutual Aid, and Alimentado el Pueblo; and through partnerships with local groups like the Na’ah Illahee Fund, Taking Black Pride, Stop the Sweeps, and the Black Farmers Collective. We hosted a mutual aid logistics workshop with Dean Spade, and connected the community with books as part of Nikkita Oliver’s public access Abolition course through Seattle University.

As we look ahead into the new year, we will continue bringing individuals and communities together through mutual support and books. We hope to have you as a partner in this work.
