A Recap of 2023: A Year of Unity and Inspiration
Published on December 22, 2023 by My Black City

Looking back on 2023, it's been an amazing year full of inspiration and togetherness. People really stepped up to shine brighter and make stronger connections.

Highlighting Two Key Events

Our focus was on two big events that brought us together. First off, the Earth Day Walk was a hit! Partnering with Beleaf in Fatherhood & Beleaf in Good, we rallied over 70 groups locally and globally to raise awareness about taking care of our planet. It was heartwarming to see people from all over the world sending in pictures while they walked. We also teamed up with Vista Botanical Gardens to get our community outdoors and walking together.

Then there was The Black Art Festival, where we celebrated and connected black artists from San Diego. From 800 RSVPs, we had 500 people join us on the big day. We showcased 45+ local black artists and worked with 25+ black vendors. It was a blast, bringing everyone together to celebrate black art.

Thank You and Impact on the Community

We're truly grateful to everyone who donated and joined in these events. Your support made a huge difference in building our community and inspiring others to shine brighter, not just in our area but in other communities too.

As we head into a new year, let's keep up this spirit of togetherness and inspiration. Together, we can keep making a positive impact and encourage others to shine even brighter in their own ways.

Thanks for being part of our journey in 2023!
