Today, June 9, 2025, NVC Kakuma turned the football field into a stage for peace, unity, and youthful energy. In an electrifying game at the heart of Kakuma Refugee Camp, girls from Kakuma 1 and Kakuma 3 settlements took to the pitch, representing a tapestry of nationalities and cultures.
The match was fiercely contested, with both teams showcasing incredible skill and determination. In the end, it was the Kakuma 3 girls who emerged victorious with a thrilling 3-2 win over their Kakuma 1 counterparts.
But beyond the final score, today’s game was a testament to our commitment to putting the knowledge from our Nonviolent Communication (NVC) training into action. With every pass, every cheer, and every handshake, the girls embodied the spirit of peace, friendship, and understanding.
At NVC Kakuma, we’re proud to see the values of NVC taking root in the hearts of our young leaders. Today’s match wasn’t just a game it was a shining example of how sport can heal divisions and build a more peaceful world.
