Changes to Octobox.io pricing : personal access to all private notifications now $10/month
Published on January 28, 2019 by Benjamin Nickolls

Today we've announced a slight change in pricing for users of Octobox.io.

In a nutshell: Octobox.io will no longer show notifications from private repositories on the free, 'open source' tier. We have also expanded the 'personal' tier — now called 'individual' — to include _all_ of Octobox's features for _all_ notifications you receive from GitHub.

To enable this you need to install the Octobox GitHub App at https://github.com/apps/octobox on each organisation that you wish to receive status updates and full notification data for. Organisations *do not* need to pay for access, your individual account covers access for you. You also need to pay for an $10/month individual tier subscription, either by donating here on Open Collective, or adding it to your GitHub account through the GitHub Marketplace https://github.com/marketplace/octobox.

Octobox is still an open source application and you are free to install, run and maintain your own instance. Instructions to do so can be found on GitHub https://github.com/octobox/octobox/blob/master/docs/INSTALLATION.md

You can read more about this change, and our reasons for making it, over on our blog https://medium.com/octobox/walking-the-tightrope-charging-for-private-repos-on-octobox-io-6efe79662479.

Thanks
