Updated X (Twitter) integration (action required)
Published on November 7, 2023 by Benjamin Piouffle

Linking your X (formerly Twitter) account to your Collective's Open Collective account means that you can automatically share your profile and updates with your social media followers.

Recently, X made some changes to its API, which may have affected your ability to use this feature. We've updated the platform to solve the issue, but you'll need to reconnect your X account for the update to take effect.

This is a quick and easy process:
  1. Go to your Collective's profile page
  2. Click on the "Admin Panel" or "Dashboard' button
  3. Click on "Settings"
  4. Click on the "Connected Accounts" tab
  5. Reconnect your Twitter account

Once you've reconnected your X (Twitter) account, you can continue to share your Open Collective profile and updates with your followers on Twitter.

Thanks folks! Just to confirm, I reconnected as explained, but I'm still seeing a yellow notification which alerts me that the account is inactive. Is this to be expected?

Hi Ruth, this message was not dismissed properly after reconnecting the account - we've just fixed that. Sorry for the inconvenience.

It doesn't work for me, throws error. Even fully disconnected to do it again from scratch and no luck.

We're still getting the error message when reconnecting.

Unfortunately, we're still experiencing random errors when connecting some Twitter accounts for which we haven't figured out the root cause yet. While we do want to resolve this, we also have more urgent priorities right now and can't provide an ETA for the resolution.
I'll make sure to update this post when we'll have some progress to share.

Sorry for the inconvenience!
