The Matariki Makers holiday program will consist of four engaging classes where tamariki explore the deep connection between well-being and the arts through the lens of te ao Matariki.
Throughout these classes young voices will be honoured, their creativity celebrated, and their well-being strengthened. Through culturally grounded, creative practices, participants will connect with their identity, community, and develop an understanding of how the arts may support self-management of their wellbeing.
All project funds will go directly towards purchasing three resource kits, each valued at $2000, this is our MANAAKI Contribution goal, it will ensure every participant has the tools and materials they need to thrive creatively and emotionally during the program and future resource sustainability.
In collaboration with National Arts Supplies and Ōpua Collective, the three art resource kits - painting, printing, and drawing, have been intentionally designed to support a high volume of students and diverse art media over an extended period. This thoughtful infrastructure ensures we can deliver high-quality, sustainable creative experiences that enable ongoing learning, expression, and well-being.
