I am delighted to inform you that Organilab has joined the Open Collective platform as a collective with the goal of financing the freemium version of the system. Our aim is to provide a free service to users in educational institutions in Latin America, starting with the service we currently provide to the School of Chemistry at the National University.
The pilot version of Organilab, which emerged in 2017, began to be implemented in 2020 in the teaching laboratories. This has led to important communication with users, who have been providing feedback and suggestions to improve the tool. This feedback has helped to strengthen the tool, and at the same time, users have been able to see improvements in the way they carry out their processes.
In the field of industrial chemistry and related areas, there are few open-source software options available. Organilab aims to create a community of software users who can collaborate and contribute to the development of the software. By joining this community, users can help to build well-being through collaboration and participation.
Organilab is a laboratory information management system that has been designed to meet the requirements of the INTE-ISO 17025 standard. The tool has been developed in an incremental and iterative manner, and includes a number of modules that can be used to support and improve laboratory operations.
By launching on the Open Collective platform, we hope to attract more contributors and sponsors to the project, and to use the funds raised to support the development and maintenance of the freemium version of Organilab. Our goal is to provide a valuable service to users in educational institutions in Latin America, and to help laboratories improve their operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
We are grateful for the support of our contributors and sponsors, and we are committed to using the platform to its fullest potential.
If you would like to be a part of the Organilab community, you can visit our page on the Open Collective platform and become a sponsor: https://opencollective.com/organilab. There are different categories of contribution available, so you can choose the one that best fits your needs.
Regards,
Organilab Development Team
