FarmOS UI Improvements
Learning lessons from farms using FarmOS and other farm management platforms, we will make the highest value UI improvements for FarmOS: overhauling the main dashboard screen to be more useful and making tables more efficient and pleasing.
Description
FarmOS needs an improved home (dashboard) page, which gets users more quickly to what they need to see, and organizes information based on the mental model most producers expect -- fields have crops have logs. In addition, the most heavily used screens in FarmOS using the gin-themed tables which are great, but need tweaking, including removal of unnecessary / infrequently used columns, enforcing a single line per row (so it's easier to read), adjusting margins, etc.
Combined, the goal is to make FarmOS look more modern and feel more immediately useful to experienced and new users.
Outputs
1. Update the FarmOS main page (dashboard) to show more useful information
2. Improve efficiency / design of farmOS tables.
Some screenshots of changes:
Changes to the overall margins for FarmOS - add density, clarity, cleanness
Changes to the FarmOS Dashboard, inspired from JD Ops, Granular, and experiences from FarmOS users. More clearly organized by Task, Activity, and Location. Less screen switching, more options in the main screen.
