Improving Product and Inventory Management in FarmOS

Track products from harvest to storage to sale and from lbs to bags. Enable external sales platforms, like Open Food Network, to get a list of all available products from your farm.

Description

It is difficult to consistently track products (bushels of wheat, lbs of apples, pecks of peaches) in FarmOS today.  While inventory tracking is technically possible, it is hard to visually connect a harvest in the field to a sales event across a meaningful product type.  This feature allows you to connect production yields to product sales and manage a clear list of products.  This is useful for inventory management (in FarmOS or for external services) and profitability / budgeting by product.

Outputs

1. To allow users to easily set up their crop and product lists in FarmOS.

2. Have a wide range of product types with a wide range of convertible packaging options (bulk lbs, bushels, sacks, pecks, bags, bunches, etc.) that can be converted between each other within the system.

3. External sales platforms can see a list of saleable inventory from my FarmOS instance.
