Welcome to 2024!
We'd like to introduce you to the updated and useful features in OvenMediaEngine that you might have missed. Also, if you want to stay updated on these feature updates and feedback processes, don't forget to follow the Announcements in OvenMediaEngine Discussions!
1. Scheduled Channel
OvenMediaEngine has been updated with a new feature that allows you to create live channels by adding pre-recorded files, also known as Pre-recorded Live or File Live. We call this feature Scheduled Channel. For more details, check out the link: link: https://github.com/AirenSoft/OvenMediaEngine/discussions/1461
2. TranscodeWebhook
You can now use TranscodeWebhook in OvenMediaEngine, allowing the use of the OutputProfiles from the Control server's response instead of OutputProfiles in the local configuration (Server.xml). Check the link for more details: https://github.com/AirenSoft/OvenMediaEngine/discussions/1472
3. Multiplex Provider
You can configure ABR with an external encoder using Multiplex Provider in OvenMediaEngine. The Multiplex Provider's stream pulls streams from other local sources and configures its own tracks. So this is useful for pulling tracks after encoding, allowing you to change codecs or readjust quality as needed. For more details, please refer to the link: https://github.com/AirenSoft/OvenMediaEngine/discussions/1489
The OvenMediaEngine team is committed to creating an even better Sub-Second Latency Streaming Server. Feel free to join our public forum (Discussions) to test our ideas and provide feedback. Additionally, share your inquiries or suggestions with us through the public forum anytime.
Thank you!
