Starting out the new year by investing in our Peer Humanity Program Participants. A third of their paid time in our program is dedicated to moving them to stability. Working hand in hand to help them navigate their financials in a way that is comfortable and successful for them. Tuesday was spent discussing the importance of paying bills on time, understand their credit score and not giving up when it feels hopeless.

Each Life Intern set up an account on Credit Sesame or Credit Karma, gathered their bills and monthly expenses and left with the assignment of watching the movie The Pursuit of Happyness. It should be noted that five out of six of our Life Interns participated voluntarily.

Our next gathering will include a facilitated discussion around the movie, time to organize their monthly expenses, unpaid bills and income opportunities and showing them where the gaps are. The part of Peer Humanity that we are most proud of is our ability to develop relationships with individuals and give them choice in their own lives while collaborating together to move them to stability. Our communities often miss out on incredible humans that can contribute positively to society because of a lack of understanding of Trauma Informed Care and Unresolved Primary Issues.
