About
Alongside the PEXperiments themselves, we’re holding a small pool of funding to support groups in bringing moments of their work to life.
This is a pilot, with €10,000 available in total, and we’re treating it as an experiment in itself. We’re curious what becomes possible when resources are placed in service of collective exploration at PEX and what we can learn from it together.
What this can support
You might request support for things like:
- A Miro or Zoom subscription to collaborate more easily
- Food or space for an in-person gathering
- Facilitation support for a key session
- Bringing in an external expert or practitioner
- Covering light coordination time to move something forward
The intention is to support specific moments, needs, or next steps within your PEXperiment. The activity needs to be not-for-profit in nature.
What we’re looking for
To keep things simple and fair, we’ll be using the below criteria:
- Your request involves at least two organisations
- It is aligned with the PEX mission
- It shows some potential for action or learning
- The use of funds is clear and intentional
- It contributes to a balanced spread across PEXperiments
While each PEXperiment could access up to €2,000, this is a shared pool so if your needs are smaller, it allows us to support others who may require more.
A few important notes
- This is a limited fund, and we may not be able to support all requests or cover the full amount asked for
- We encourage you to be specific and thoughtful about what would make the biggest difference
- Funding will be distributed via Open Collective - this can happen in the form of a grant or simply through reimbursing cost (such as a receipt from a groceries store). We will assess what might work best based on your submission and get back to you on that matter.Supported activities should take place by October 2026, when we’ll reflect on what has emerged and what we’ve learned
Requests will be reviewed by a set of reviewers which is currently made up of:
- a PEX steward, and
- the PEX coordinator
For this pilot, we’re keeping the process simple and lightweight, while aiming to make thoughtful decisions based on the shared criteria above.
Over time, we hope to bring in additional community members to take part in this process as another way of distributing ownership and learning across the network.
