Strategic Planning Retreat - April 2024
Published on March 27, 2024 by Ayden Férdeline

In the first week of April, the PIT Alumni Network will be hosting a Strategic Planning Retreat in Marrakesh, Morocco. The goal for this event is to both celebrate our network’s past accomplishments and the lessons we’ve learned along the way, as well as to establish a five-year plan for our future activities.

Some of the questions that will guide us during this retreat are: What are future opportunities that we want to move forward together with? How do we support and sustain our global community? How should we allocate the funds available to support and grow our community? How do we grow and expand our available pool of resources? What is this community’s role in the larger public interest and civic technology field?

Current and past Steering Committee members and other alumni of Ford, Mozilla, an Media Democracy Fund fellowship programs – coming from countries like Brazil, Portugal, Germany, Kenya, Uganda, the UK and the USA, among others – will come together to help us answer these questions and to move forward in evolving the container that holds together this community. We will be joined by external facilitator Sujin Julia Noël. We want to understand how we can keep supporting our members and increasing the impact and sustainability of public interest technology projects around the world.

We thank our funders and champions the Ford Foundation, Media Democracy Fund and Mozilla Foundation for supporting the Network during these years.

On behalf of the current PIT Alumni Network Steering Committee, we warmly welcome to Morocco our community members participating in this event.
