Polyphonics Choir

We create a safe space for marginalised people to meet and sing

About

About Us
We’re proud to be London’s only poly choir, for people who are polyamorous, non-monogamous and allies, and we want to grow with the community. We encourage a non-judgemental space where anyone can have a go at singing.  We try to foster a safe environment to learn how to sing and to enjoy creating music together. We also try to keep costs low as we don’t think money should be a barrier and we want to make it possible for everyone to join regardless of income.

Polyphonics Choir Membership Setup Instructions
  1. When you set up a membership, you can either do it as incognito or via your display name, which will show up on the contributions for Polyphonics Choir (visible to everyone). Make sure you have the display name you would like others to see. On the top right, after you have signed in, click on your initials, then Settings, and in Info you can update your display name, then click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom.
  2. Either click on the ‘CONTRIBUTE’ tab on the Polyphonics Choir page or scroll down in the main page to the “Financial Contributions” section. Choose whichever of the 3 membership options
suits you best and click on the ‘Contribute’ button for that membership.
  3. On the next screen, you’ll be able to decide if you want to contribute to Open Collective
via a Platform Tip. The platform is free to use and open software, so any contributions
are appreciated if you can afford it, but it’s not a requirement. Once done, click on the
    ‘Your info’ button.
  4. The next step will ask you to contribute either as your user or as an incognito user. If you
choose incognito, this would make your donation anonymous to other users, but your
email will still be visible to the administrators of the Polyphonics Choir account so that we can keep track of memberships.
  5. Choose your payment method. They both use Stripe to handle the payments, so it’s
secure to do it either way.
  6. Pay attention to the charge dates. Once you add your payment information and click the
Contribute button at the end of the page, you will be charged on the day for your
membership, and then monthly on the 1st of whichever month happens about a month
after. A membership that is set somewhere between the 25th of February to the 5th of
March will be charged on that day, but then not again until April 1st. If you are starting at
the middle of the month, let us know and we can figure out the best course of action.

Polyphonics Choir Expenses Policy
Current choir expenses are Choir Director fees (to cover running rehearsals and arranging songs), venue hire fees for rehearsals, adhoc printing fees (sheet music, lyrics and marketing material including posters) and website maintenance costs.  Any expenses that fall outside of these categories will not be approved for payment without formal pre-approval from choir administrators prior to submitting the expense.

You must upload a valid receipt or invoice clearly showing the total amount, date, legal address, and what the payment is for.

Expenses will be reviewed weekly by our administrators.
