We've learned a lot over the past year plus and we've adjusted our goals

Hello generous community members!
We wanted to provide an update and rationale behind the recent change to our fundraising goal and share our appreciation to all of you that have already generously made a gift to support Possibility Project! We truly could not do this work without community members like YOU and our amazing speakers. These gifts are helping us cover the costs required to make these thought-provoking and inspiring episodes a reality! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Our original goal was to raise enough funds to pay our past and future speakers. To explore this goal, we connected with our 2020 speakers and overwhelmingly they said that they did not want or need to be compensated for the time that they had generously provided. Every speaker that we have included in 2021 has also provided their time and wisdom fully aware that we are unable to provide compensation. While we absolutely still hold the goal and core belief that all speakers should be and deserve to be paid, we are still unable to achieve this goal at this time and we are moving that goal to the future.
We are now prioritizing covering the basic costs that it takes to curate, prep, and steward this awesome community and episodes, and we've updated our fundraising goal to $10,000. Our expenses so far have been paid for by the two of us and are primarily software-related and connected to our processes of sending emails and ensuring that everyone's included in our outreach. While we'd love for our time to be compensated (another future goal), the $10,000 will not only reimburse us for expenses incurred to date but set us up for a fully covered 2021 and early 2022.
We are excited to grow this community and continue to explore our future fundraising goals! We appreciate your generous support and if you would like to be a part of us reaching our newest goal of raising $10,000, or helping us reach our larger fundraising vision, we'd truly appreciate any gift you could make, and we'd love ideas and connections to foundations/funders/sponsors that you think would be interested in supporting our future goals!
