About

Project Data Scope:
The COVID-19 pandemic illustrates that our global supply chain networks are profoundly fragile, and this systemic fragility poses a grave threat to the lives and prosperity of people all over the world. The current crisis has challenged the world's ability to respond rapidly to threats and exposed vulnerabilities that must be addressed to ensure economic security and public health in the face of threats such as pandemics and war. As we recover from the current crisis, and prepare for the certainty of the next, it is well past time to think about security and competitiveness as linked to our manufacturing, supply chain network supply chain, and workforce capabilities.
This Project proposes a framework of templates and an automatable platform for using them, which can allow dynamic supply chains to be more agile and responsive to crises and shortages. The system will include a scenario capability which will enable the simulating of possible states of the system.
By transparently publishing knowledge via open templates which was previously closely held we can make supply chain network supply chains both more agile and geographically flexible, and therefore more resilient. A resilient supply chain has the potential to prevent deaths, reduce suffering caused by acute shortages in times of crisis, and facilitate economic activity during periods of normal operations.
