Project Lockdown

Fiscal Host: The IO Foundation

A global Rights observatory dedicated to ensuring your Rights remain unlocked.

About

Project Description

Project Lockdown is a civic tech, interactive platform providing an overview of the state of Human and Digital Rights around the globe. It evaluates policies obtained from high quality sources that may impact their observance. It provides, among other tools, a layered map interface that allows for a visual representation of the policies adopted, assisting a broad range of stakeholders in understanding the global state of their Rights. This empowers them to become active agents of global change.

Summary of Activities

  • Design, implement and maintain the project's modules (MAP, API, BO, WEB)
  • Evaluate and implement new DataSet Layers
  • Implement data funnels that allow faster integration of policy data in the platform
  • Create and maintain the Global Rights Index
  • Publish research over the data in the platform

Outcomes

  • Create awareness and an easier understanding on the global state of Rights
  • Engage with a wide range of partners to maximize the above
  • Support civil society and policy makers to generate policy proposals that are attuned with the defense of Rights.
