Reflecting on 2023

Greetings Diaper Fund Supporters!
As the year draws to a close, it's time to reflect on what we've accomplished in 2023 and look ahead at what's next.
This year, we celebrated three years of consistently providing members of our community with diapers and wipes every Monday, rain or shine. This is possible thanks to you, our generous supporters! All donations that we received were used to purchase diapers and wipes that go directly into the hands of local families.
While consistency is a crucial tenet of our operation, we also made an important change. This year, we changed our name from The Living Pantry to Rain or Shine Diaper Fund and Distro. Since we now focus strictly on diapers and wipes, this name more accurately reflects what we do. Plus, we have a cool new logo!
As an entirely volunteer-run effort, the Diaper Fund couldn't exist without our committed group of volunteers. Running a Monday afternoon distribution can be a challenge when demands from work, school, and life seem never-ending. We had a few weeks this year when we were short staffed or had to scramble for volunteers. But by the end of 2023, we have expanded our squad and welcomed several new friends who are dedicated to the diaper cause and give their time on a consistent basis.
Speaking of friends, we've gotten to know some folks from Bushwick Ayuda Mutua and Mil Mundos, who run a clothing distribution that takes place on Mondays at 2 p.m. at the Living Gallery, our wonderful host location. Since their distribution begins shortly after ours ends, families that come for diapers can also get clothing without needing to go our of their way to another location. It feels great to share a space, volunteers, and resources with other organizations that are committed to providing vital supplies to the people who need them.
As always, we are grateful to the people who come to our distro, our volunteers, The Living Gallery, and of course our generous donors, for making 2023 a successful year for Rain or Shine Diaper Fund & Distro.
In 2024, we look forward to another year of consistent Monday diaper distros, as well as to expanding our fundraising efforts and creating more partnerships with other mutual aid groups.
