Urgent funds needed for our friend facing homelessness and forced return!
Our friend has come to the UK to find safety and security after surviving extreme domestic violence. She is a well loved community member in Manchester, and has consistently gone out of her way to support others in similar situations, even while going through awful things herself.
Her life is in serious danger if she cannot stay in the UK.
The home office has decided that this is not enough for them, and she, like many, many people in similar positions, has been unable to find a lawyer to dispute this decision. The home office is now trying to force her into "voluntary" return by withdrawing housing support.
Without this support, she is in imminent danger of having to sleep on the street. The home office have not given her the right to work, leaving her with no way to support herself.
We are asking for community support to help pay for food, shelter and other basic living costs, allowing her more time to work out her next steps.
