About

RestFB is an open source software library that helps Java developers connect to Facebook. Development started in 2010 and the codebase continues to grow in lockstep with Facebook's latest innovations. RestFB is licensed under the terms of the business-friendly MIT license.

Currently we provide full support for the Graph API and offer useful methods for working with access tokens and manipulating data. Additionally, we provide support for other popular features like webhooks, the Business Manager API, and the Messenger API for chatbots.

Everything is well-documented - we maintain detailed javadoc and have a continuously-updated user manual with code examples on our website. For explaining more complex examples that address special use cases, we have a "cookbook" with some recipes.

New versions are released at least monthly and we work hard to keep the library up-to-date with Facebook's latest changes. Unfortunately, we don't have advance notice of what's coming, so we have to quickly react and implement updates once they are made public.

Aside from the obvious software library support, we answer questions as long as they pertain to the Facebook API. We don't differentiate between RestFB questions and general Facebook API questions.

To accomplish this, we are available at GitHub, Stack Overflow, and Facebook. Of course it is possible to contact us by email or via our contact form.

As RestFB sponsor, you will help us improve the development process in many ways:

  1. Purchase suitable hardware to speed up local development
  2. Host a response management system on a dedicated server
  3. Support tools that we use during development and communication with our users
  4. Attend conferences to get new ideas and improve the software quality even more

Becoming a sponsor does not confer any special privileges on you - for example, your issues are not prioritized compared to other contributors'. All issues are treated equally. But we will be happy to add a sponsor badge or your name/your company's name to our website as outlined in the plan descriptions.

Thank you,

The RestFB Team
