About
Room To Be is a grassroots community gardening group with an artistic streak. We are based in Dundee providing opportunities to grow, to create and to connect socially within the city. We operate nomadically across trusted community gardens and hubs to provide safe get-togethers that foster a sense of belonging. We partner with the wider city growing and creative networks to strengthen allyship and collaboration. We are climate aware and wish to explore in more detail how we can approach climate action and social justice with queer thinking.
Our gardening meet-ups usually take place on Saturdays. Our very relaxed creative get-togethers are once a month. Our creative team also run a seasonal arts programme that follows the Celtic turning of the year which includes a lovely get together around shared food and a creative activity. We get out and about in our local communities to build networks with other groups through participating in activities like gallery visits, theatre and cinema and other nature connection projects. We are currently working with a few different organisations on developing our green spaces, and building somewhere we can grow together. We hope to have a transformative impact in our garden spaces, and beyond.
