Good work in 2023. Looking forward to 2024!

The Institute had some excellent opportunities in 2023. While both donations, volunteer time, and other resources were limited, we still made some important contributions:
- We provided digital and physical security for the Voting Village at DEF CON 31. We also participated in a Voting Village speaker panel on the impact of misinformation on democracy;
- We attended the Nobel Prize Foundation's Summit on Disinformation at the National Academy of Sciences;
- We advised multiple victims of intimate partner abuse how to better protect themselves through device configuration and online behavior; and
- We engaged with a nascent organization building federated communities of care and experimenting with post-capitalist needs-and-abilities-based economic mechanisms.
The Institute had $385.75 in holdings at the end of 2023 and had no expenses during the year.
In 2024, we are excited to implement a new approach to spreading knowledge to marginalized communities and the activists who support them. We are working on a partnership with a private company who will be launching a unique personal security education product. That company will fund the Institute's education efforts through donations and through free licensing of their product for not-for-profit use. 2024 is very likely to see the Institute's size and reach expand substantially. We're excited for the possibilities!
Happy Holidays to all, and best of luck in the New Year. We'll see you there!
