2021 was a challenging year in Austin, with the winter storm and then the passing of Prop B which criminalizes camping, sitting and lying down in public spaces. Almost all of our neighbors who used to be visible to us where we could meet them and share our resources, are now hiding in the woods. We continue to support several camps, distributing food and survival gear weekly. We have also been able to use our funds to provide hotel shelter and consistent support for a handful of folks while they navigate the eternally frustrating systems that hoard money and resources. Hundreds of phones have been distributed. We have created a budget that will hopefully sustain our work for another year and will continue to do this work for as long as we can! STOP THE SWEEPS!!!
