Maplewood, New Jersey – March 1, 2025 – Support Inclusion in Tech (SiNC), an initiative dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusivity within the WordPress community, is pleased to announce the closing of its application window for its inaugural contributor cohort. The application period officially ended on February 28, 2025, marking a significant milestone in SiNC's mission to support individuals who contribute to the WordPress community.

SiNC's contributor program, launched in June 2024, offers grants to individuals who have made notable contributions to the WordPress ecosystem through local meetups, WordCamps, or code contributions. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance and recognition to underrepresented individuals who are actively involved in strengthening the WordPress community.

“We were thrilled to see the overwhelming interest in our contributor program,” says Winstina Hughes, founder of Support Inclusion in Tech. “The diverse pool of applicants demonstrates the passion and commitment that exists within the WordPress community. We are excited to welcome our first cohort and support their continued contributions.”

SiNC received an impressive 21 applications for this inaugural cohort. The selection process involved a randomized approach, ensuring fairness and equal opportunity for all eligible applicants. Each of these deserving individuals will receive a $240 grant to support their continued contributions to the WordPress community.
