Talkomatic was originally created in 1973 as one of the first real-time chat systems ever made. Today, it lives on as an open-source project built to carry that same spirit of simple, real-time connection into the modern internet.
We’re not trying to be the next big social media platform—we just want to keep a space online where people can talk freely, in real time, without the noise. No algorithms, no ads, no pressure. Just people talking.
This collective exists to support the continued development, hosting, and improvement of Talkomatic. Contributions go directly toward keeping the site running, building new features, maintaining the open-source code, and making the experience better for everyone.
