September

September marks Teachers for Peace's 6th-month anniversary. In reality, it is not a happy anniversary because it marks 6 months of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, 6 months of continual suffering, injustices, and devastation of war. To me,...

About

Teachers for peace is a non-profit, globally distributed project that supports the thousands of people uprooted and affected by the war in Ukraine. Our overall mission is to offer consistent free lessons that will empower, educate and bring a smile to our student's faces when they need it most. Our students have a place they can go and be accompanied by a live teacher who focuses on something productive - learning a new language, recipe, dance, or how to breathe and relax doing yoga. The Teacher for Peace community is there.

Our Teachers for Peace family consists of 8 coordinators, 10 regional ambassador teachers in countries such as France, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Ukraine, Japan, Korea and Brazil. These teachers work together with the +30 volunteer teachers give their time to support and empower their students and displaced Ukrainian women and children in their countries. We work entirely pro bono and altruistically.

Teachers for peace has been built with love and amazing people donating their time and companies donating their services. For example, mums abroad, Zoom, and twinkl. We have grown organically, and it was easy; everyone believed in and helped this project grow in every way possible.

Nine months later, we continue.    Over 7.8 million refugees fleeing Ukraine have been recorded across Europe, while an estimated 8 million people have been displaced within the country. With winter coming, these women and children need our support more than ever.

Please consider helping us reach more students and empower more women so that they can face whatever hurdles they encounter. If you would like to volunteer or donate this #givingtuesday please go to our website www.teachers-for-peace.com
