We are a vegan intentional community creating a fruit forest on former pasture land in the Amazon rainforest in south-east Ecuador. The project was established in 2014 to create the first open regenerative vegan intentional community in the tropics of South America. Ecuador is an ideal location for our community due to the perfect climate for a variety of fruit trees, and as Ecuador is linked to the US dollar this allows for relative financial stability. When the project started there was no road access to the property and only a small cabin for housing. Now, we have a thriving community with established infrastructure, gardens, 500+ fruit trees and teach permaculture informally.
