Winter Solstice 2022 Update

What an amazing year for the BoCo Climate Justice Hive! This is our first year being fiscally sponsored by Open Collective Foundation and we're finally getting the hang of the system. And we know that there are even more bells and whistles and super wonderful services through this platform (like benefits!!) that we haven't tapped into yet.
This year has been huge! We have been weaving community connections, beginning to help local organizations coordinate and collaborate. We have developed strong connections with the Climate Justice Collaborative of Boulder County, local governments of Boulder, Longmont, Erie and Boulder County; given workshops for GreenFaith Boulder County; and collected detailed information about who is doing what and where around Boulder County from more than 150 organizations and have already identified the next 150 to come. We have the Boulder.Earth community calendar up and running in English and Spanish; we have a strong team of pollinators, including our 2nd year of interns from Naropa University and CU's INVST program; and we have an invitation from Naropa's Environmental Studies program to create a course centered around the Hive for fall 2023!
We have a wonderful team of a dozen talented and committed humans, and are proud of the care and connection we have for and with each other. Yay Hive crew!!
We have a big vision and this summer we learned how to channel and structure our goals into focus areas - thank you Suzanne! We ran into tech challenges when a partner we were working with changed course and we learned the depth of skill on our local team - thank you Mark! We faced challenges around getting flows of financial support from local government and private donors moving but we've learned a lot about patience, hanging in there, persistence and grit, as well as trusting the bigger process unfolding of which we are but a part. The Hive foundation we've built this year feels strong and vibrant and ready for what is coming next!
