I’m in Scotland. I know your organisation says UK, but I just want to double check that organisations in Scotland can apply? Thank you. I LOVE the concept! Well done

About

Open for donations now! (plus 1K match funding available until end of October)

Applications for grants from The Boring Fund will be opening November 2025

What is it?

The Boring Fund helps small non-profit organisations (based in the UK) cover some of the boring costs that keep them running. Boring but essential things like insurance, web hosting, admin time: the stuff that’s always so hard to find funding for.

It’s partly a funding experiment, partly making a point about the state of the stupid funding system.

Small, grassroots organisations shouldn’t have to jump through endless hoops to get support. We want to take away the red tape that so often makes fundraising complicated, intimidating and unfair for people doing the proper work on the ground, particularly for maginalised groups.

The Boring Fund keeps things easy with the simplest application process, £200 grants, and no reporting.
The Boring Fund is for small non-profit organisations based in the UK (CICs, tiny charities, community groups), usually with one or two people doing all the jobs, and doing amazing things through sheer determination to make things better. They’re running food banks, youth clubs, arts projects, safe spaces, community events, and more- on a shoestring budget with little fundraising support.

By covering a little bit of the “boring stuff,” we want to show how these brilliant organisations should be supported to keep doing what they do best - changing the world. (big funders with wads of cash, please take note!)

How do I support?

If you want to support incredible organisations directly, or you too have dreamed about becoming a funder just to make the whole nonsense better- you can donate now.

In Sept-Oct 2025 you can donate at a level you're comfortable with, knowing it will all go directly to brilliant kick-ass organisations. (I am not taking any admin costs, will cover platform fees, and our fiscal host is waiving their fees 🩷)

The money will be distributed to organisations including those that are led by- or shout alongside- people whose voices don’t get heard enough (for example LGBTQ+, queer or trans-led organisations, those with global majority leaders or for refugee and migrant communities). That’s something which is core to The Boring Fund and our values so if that’s not the right fit for you, then this isn’t the place to donate your money.

If however, that’s something you want to support more, you can spread the word about The Boring Fund on LinkedIn or other social, or let me know if you have an event I can share info at.

A magnificent individual who is determined to remain anonymous (despite my attempts to publicly celebrate her) has offered to match any donations between now and the end of Oct, up to 1K. So if you donate £100 it will be topped up to £200 and we'll be able to give another grant to another organisation. If you chuck in £20, that's £40 going in the pot (you get the idea).

So if you've been meaning to donate and haven't got round to it yet- do it now and you get to swank around feeling doubly generous.

Thanks for being a legend.

I run a small organisation. How do I apply for money?

We’ll open for applications in November 2025. We’ll post info here about how to apply and also share details on Instagram and via my mailing list (you can sign up here

All grants will be £200. We’ll know by November how many we can give out. The application process will be ridiculously easy. You could probably do it in 5 mins from your phone while still in your pyjamas.

Who set up The Boring Fund?

Hi, I’m Christina (she/her). I work with small non-profit organisations to make your work easier to manage and fund. There’s more about me here.
It started as a fun donation thing I did on an Instagram reel, based on what I would genuinely do if I won the lottery (set up a funder to fund core, boring costs). I made a couple of donations from my own money.

And then it went bananas and other people offered to donate. I was never planning to set up a funder but when people are offering cash to the kind of organisations you want to support AND you find a cool mutual-aid funding platform that means it’s really easy, I thought I’d give it a go.
