You guys! You're amazing. We're nearly at 3K which means we will be able to support 15 organisations. The Boring Fund will give grants to small organisations doing incredible stuff on tiny budgets. 

The idea for the fund started over on Instagram where I offered one £200 grant and then some other gorgeous people stepped in and offered to donate too. Last time, we supported a small charity empowering vulnerable, marginalised and disabled people through food; a peer support group for survivors of sexual violence; a Community Interest Company creating welcoming spaces for anyone feeling lonely or isolated; an activist theatre company challenging inequality; and a brand new CIC offering support groups and events for those who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy, baby or child.

We'll keep you updated and let you know when we open for grant applications in November. It will be the most no nonsense application ever and I'm aiming for it to only take the people applying 5 minutes of their time, so we don't take the piss for a small grant. 

The idea of The Boring Fund has already gone further than this page with people planning on setting up their own in the US, Australia, New Zealand and Zambia. Plus grantmakers saying they're reviewing their programme at the moment and are going to share The Boring Fund idea with their trustees or board. The response has shown how much everyone who runs or supports non-profit organisations knows this is needed - so I'm going to keep sharing to get it to more grant makers too.
