We hope you are all doing well, and preparing for the upcoming holiday season!
It’s hard to believe this year is nearly over - it’s absolutely flown by🛫 We’re starting to get into reflection mode over at SCN and are thinking about everything that’s happened this year🧐 You can see what we’ve been up to by checking out our new website💻
This month, we’re giving some advanced warning of our upcoming payment day changes for December, some fantastic funding opportunities, and some tips for keeping your Open Collective page up to date for the new year👇
📅 December Payment Days
The SCN office will be shut from 22nd December - 2nd January. Please find information below about the changed payment days for the holiday period:
Week Commencing 18th December:
- Monday 18th December
- Wednesday 20th December
- Friday 22nd December
Week Commencing 25th December:
- Wednesday 27th December
Week Commencing 1st January
- Tuesday 2nd January
- Thursday 4th January
From the following week payments will be made as normal on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
⛅️Updating your Open Collective Page
As we’re nearing the end of the year, now is a good time to spruce up your Open Collective page ready for 2024. We've put a few suggestions for you below👇
- Updating your expenses policy - make sure your expense policy is in line with the values and activities of your group! If you need help/inspiration updating this, click here to see our guidance
- Update your page admins - make sure the people who have admin rights on your page are the people you want to have admin rights
🏹Funding Opportunities
- Ashley Family Foundation in Wales - grants of up to £10,000 are available to groups in Wales who focus on communities, arts, or are based in rural areas. The deadline to apply is 22nd December 2023.
- The Fore Unrestricted Core Funding - registration for The Fore’s Spring 2024 Funding round is open from 6th December -13th December.
- Tesco Stronger Starts - grants of up to £1500 provided for groups that provide food and support to young people. Rolling deadline
📜Incoming Funds and Missing Contributions - A reminder that we have set up an incoming contribution form where you can let us know if you will be receiving a large incoming contribution so we can allocate it to your page!
As well as that, you can also share this form with your contributors. Sometimes contributions are made with the incorrect reference number which means we are unable to allocate them to your page. If any of your contributors can’t see their contribution, send them this form so we can allocate it to you!
