We hope you had a fabulous time over the bank holiday weekends, and managed to grab a few minutes of sun as it was peeking through the clouds🌞 Over at SCN we’ve been busy working on some very exciting behind the scenes stuff which we will be announcing soon!
This week, we’re sharing some great funding opportunities, as well as information about New Local's “Stronger Together” online conference 💃
🧑🏭Stronger Things 2023: Community Power - this years New Local conference is being held next Tuesday 23rd May. The “agenda is geared towards action, propelling a community-led vision for public services into reality.” You can find out more and register for the online conference here.
🌺May Bank Holiday Payment Dates - please find below some advanced warning of the upcoming May bank holiday changed payment dates:
May bank holiday (w/c 29th May):
- Tuesday 30th May
- Friday 2nd June
🏹Funding Opportunities
- West Midlands, Mayor’s Community Weekend - grants of up to £2000 are available for groups in the West Midlands to celebrate the Mayor’s Community Weekend in September. The deadline is 7th June.
- Forever Manchester Awards 2023 - grants of up to £1000 are available for grassroots organisations in Manchester. The deadline is 26th May.
- London, Shared Endeavour Fund - the Mayor’s Office is offering grants between £10,000-£25,000 to support initiatives that challenge racism, intolerance, hate, extremism and terrorism, offline and online, in London. The deadline is 22nd May.

One of our favourite tools is the Network Building Canvas, which is a fantastic guide for setting up a successful peer network or getting an existing one to flourish.

📜Incoming Funds and Missing Contributions - A reminder that we have set up an incoming contribution form where you can let us know if you will be receiving a large incoming contribution so we can allocate it to your page!
As well as that, you can also share this form with your contributors. Sometimes contributions are made with the incorrect reference number which means we are unable to allocate them to your page. If any of your contributors can’t see their contribution, send them this form so we can allocate it to you!
