News flash: Arrivals and Departures
Published on August 26, 2023 by TorontoJS

Our 5th newsletter by drey moreau is out!

Within, Daniel Stoyanov created a Capture The Flag-style game that needed to be hacked by newsletter recipients!

Say Hello To...!

Marco Campos and Dale Karp will be joining us as organizers of JS Code Club online, onboarded by Danny Kim, who has enlivened TorontoJS with the spirit of mob programming and pair programming. Danny, along with Yuri will be continuing these efforts at Maple Code meetup!

We're also excited to welcome Sami Xie and Aman Aalam joining us as organizers for in-person events from September and October onwards!

And stay tuned: Zeinab Farag is brewing up a meeting of the femme minds, with the help of Yuri Yang.

We wave goodbye, but they're not far...!

We've been lucky for the time Danny Kim, Chris Naismith, and Sherry Yang spent organizing, moderating, maintaining one of North America's largest software engineering communities.
Their dedication to running events safely and their ability to patiently hear out the needs of the community are every part of what makes us so large and inviting today.

It's really not the number on paper (we can pull those out) --those of us who work with many folks know that people can come and go, but the relationships and learnings gained from totally different people with disparate origin stories, trying to make a better space for discussing craft, code, a better engineering culture... is just invaluable. A human effort to behold!

PS: Fall and winter events are being planned, stay tuned!
