multi-stakeholder cooperative conversion progress update

first, thank you for considering/donating to this cause!
valentines salon is currently incorporated as a partnership llc. in the near future, we hope to be expanding our services to include more electrolysis appointment availability, including on weekends, and transfeminine voice coaching. in this process of adding to our team, we want every new team member to have ownership in the company. the best model for this is a cooperative, and a multi-stakeholder cooperative will allow us to have worker owners, consumer owners, and community supporters.
to this end, we have worked hard on forming a board of directors for our future cooperative that includes both worker and consumer members. these people share our original values of accessibility, equity, and social and economic justice. it is with those values at the forefront of our priorities that we will continue to move towards incorporating as a cooperative & expanding our team.
donations at this time are extremely useful. our pay-what-you-can model is a double edged sword: we can acquire more clients than other practices (but because we only opened in september of last year, we still have a long ways to go before we fill up our availability), and we may make less money from clients who are unable to afford the full recommended pricing. by donating, you can help us continue to offer pay-what-you-can gender affirming care, and at the same time, afford our ambitions. upcoming large expenses we foresee are lawyer fees for the cooperative and a laser hair removal machine.
thanks again for your consideration!
