trans care collective

co-founded by sofia and alice, valentines salon is an electrolysis practice located in saint cloud, minnesota. our mission is to provide effective electrolysis to everyone. for those unfamiliar, electrolysis is permanent hair removal. it is particularly useful for trans feminine individuals, for whom it can create a significantly lighter and more feminine facial appearance, as well as eventually eliminating the need to shave.
one of the many strategies we hope that we can bring this to everyone is through mutual aid: those able to give will be helping those who would otherwise be unable to afford permanent hair removal.
with open collective donations, we'd like to fund free electrolysis sessions for more clients. we'd also love to grow our practice quickly. hair removal equipment (such as an additional machine, glasses that magnify and light the client's skin, and a laser machine), more training, and taking insurance are all goals that could be achieved with enough funding. in the further future, we'll switch from an LLC to a multi-stakeholder or worker cooperative, and add more technicians.
we believe this mission is so important, and that we are uniquely positioned to make a huge difference in the lives of many trans people. with only two other electrolysis practices in minnesota offering bottom surgery prep for trans fems, our location only an hour north from the biggest metro area in the state, and two amazing trans technicians, we are confident that our practice will become a crucial part of the trans community in this state. we thank you for your support!
