Hi there, I recently came out as trans to my family and was subsequently made homeless by them and disowned, after being homeless for some time in Pembrokeshire(middle of nowhere in wales), I am now relocating, I’ve secured a well paid full time job in and optician that I’m due to start on the 10th of November, so I’m due now to move now on the 5th of November, I’m wondering if it might be possible to get some help, the money would contribute towards, my first months rent on a small room(£400 total for the month) food to get through to my first pay in December and travel to and from work, I’ve decided to rebuild a new life alone in the city and get away from this place and the prejedices, although I’m sure they still exist there, if you can give any help that would be amazing, I currently only have basic universal credit to pay for all of these things and it’s unfeasible , I have tried other routes for funding but don’t seem to be getting anywhere, so I thought I’d try this, thank you for considering and reading this lengthy essay, I’m going to put in for the travel cost and some of the first months rent I will donate to back to the fund from my first months pay in my new job if you lovely peeps can help, I did already apply for a get any for the cost of the train who co was successful, I’m hoping to start my medical transition once the money is rolling in from this job and it’s pretty well payed, thanks for any gel you can give.

Expense policies
Please make sure you type your full name and not just an initial. For example ‘John Smith’ instead of ‘J Smith’.
We accept claims for the cost of medications, food, transport to appointments, counselling and anything related to your transition. We also support trans, nonbinary, and intersex (TIN) folk with bills and living expenses. We do not currently accept claims for money for pet expenses.

If you are applying for the first time, please provide the first half of your postcode and a link to one of your social media accounts in the "additional invoice information" box. This is to verify your identity and prevent scammers from taking money from trans people.

Please also let us know how much you need (max. £60 per month) and what you need it for (eg. bills, food, debt etc etc) in the "additional invoice information" box.

We don't allow reoccurring grants set through open collective, we ask that you don't set your grant to reoccur automatically as it adds strain to our grant team and can create duplicate expenses.

For our full policy, please read the below document for full requirements when submitting for funding. https://transaid.cymru/types-of-grants/
