What's Update! from Trystereo
Published on December 22, 2022 by Foster Noone

As 2022 comes to a close, Trystereo wants to express immense gratitude to our collective members, our participants, and our community at large. To everyone who accessed our services, who stayed up late writing grants, who came to our monthly kit making parties, who shared our hotline number with someone they loved, thank you. Your support means everything to us.

Trystereo has been engaged in harm reduction work in New Orleans for over ten years. In our eleventh year of existence we distributed tens of thousands of doses of naloxone and hundreds of thousands of syringes to the greater New Orleans community. We hosted naloxone and harm reduction trainings in bars, parking lots, and over Zoom. We raised $5,872 during our most successful Giving Tuesday campaign yet and have exciting new fundraising projects on the horizon for 2023.

As the second-largest syringe service program in the state and as an organization with no paid staff, our growing pains have led us to a renewed focus on creating sustainable infrastructure for Trystereo. 2022 saw us transitioning fiscal sponsors and officially joining with Open Collective this December. We are excited to continue building this partnership and strengthening our systems of care (for ourselves, for the collective, for our participants) in the new year.

Stay tuned for updates!
