Twin Ports DSA Food Aid Fund

 

Many local groups have been working to expand mutual aid food distribution in the area over the past few years, seeking to help fill gaps in food aid and build community and solidarity. These endeavors need both volunteers and funding/donations to remain sustainable. This fund was started by Twin Ports DSA's Ecosocialist Working Group to buy food containers and meal ingredients for the last Sunday of the month meals (held at Clayton Jackson McGhie Memorial and/or the DTA) which have been put on by Food Not Bombs and Socialist Meal Program. 

These funds will go towards ingredients for meals, containers & utensils (compostable when possible), snacks and beverages, and occasional bulk orders of things like gloves/warm weather gear to give away. 

They can also be requested by other groups distributing food to folks. We are still only getting $200-$300 from monthly donations and often have funds yet to be paid out in reimbursements so this depends on availability, but as the fund grows this possibility can expand as well!
