Umbrella Alliance US, Inc.

Umbrella Alliance is a not-for-profit organization addressing economic insecurity of neurodivergent individuals by taking informed, organized, and focused action toward sustainable change in education, employment, and healthcare practices for people in this community.

Knowing that each community has it's own needs and being built on principles of lived experience, communities of practice, and community based participatory research to address local needs we knew that having local chapters was the only way for Umbrella Alliance to realize its vision and mission. Umbrella Alliance was originally founded by Angela Loynd in Australia but she never intended it to be hers alone. The idea was to provide a foundation for local, community organizations to build upon. 

Angela Locashio and Jessica Jahns have been working side-by-side with Ange Loynd to build the foundation and it is through the hard work of all involved that we are able, today to open the US chapter, Umbrella Alliance US, Inc. We are so proud to have you join us on this journey to address the needs of our community and create a sustainable future for NDs where we can feel confident in our security, economic and otherwise.

• Community Outreach

  • Increase engagement and collaboration between Umbrella Alliance, allied organizations, and the ND community

  • Cultivate and strengthen ND support and inclusion in education, employment, healthcare, support, and social settings

• Climate & Visability

  • Raise awareness about ND culture and history

  • Support professional development of community providers through education, research, and mentorship programs

• Access to Resources

  • Establish extensive, free access to resources that are evidence based, community created, and ND affirming

• Community-led Action

  • Foster community based participatory research geared to strengthen economic security of ND community members

• Sustainability & Growth

  • Ensure that ND individuals and the ND community as a whole has opportunities for present and future success as defined by the community

We are in the infancy stage and have applied for our 501c3 status. We are not going to simply sit around and wait until that goes through; there is much work to be done!
