Hi folks!
We're now fiscally hosted by the Open Collective Foundation! This means that all your donations to Urbanists.Social are tax deductible, as OCF is a 501(c)(3) organization. This also means that the money no longer lives in my bank account, eliminating a huge bus factor. This'll allow us to make sure that the server sticks around, even if me or Zak do not.
Thank you so much for all your generous contributions! Over the past month and a half, we've raised about $600-ish, paid for two months of our server expenses and our startup costs, and saved enough to cover 3 months of our costs. Our monthly contributions are at almost $200, nearly double our server costs. We're more than sustainable to say the least.
This has taken a huge amount of stress off of mine and Zak's back. Thank y'all so much for your support, it means the world to us. So incredibly grateful to be able to run a non-commodified social space on the internet where folks can be people instead of customers. Means a lot to me.
