About
Visual Arts Plymouth CIC is a group of arts professionals & independent artists from a range of visual arts & culture organisations across the city who work together to connect grassroots activity with a larger city-wide cultural plan and vision.
Through monthly meetings and project-led initiatives, members of the group (known as VAP CIC Activators) have shared knowledge, ideas, resources, energy and effort in order to effect change, with the aim of raising the profile and promoting the diverse range of arts activity happening in Plymouth.
We are currently reconsidering our structure and activities to make them more inclusive and sustainable. We are also seeking expressions of interest from anyone who might be interested in becoming a VAP CIC Director.
In 2015, Visual Arts Plymouth launched the 1st Plymouth Art Weekender – PAW – an ambitious, annual, three-day event that now takes place across the city each September. In 2020, we are facing many challenges. We are grateful to our many sponsors and partners and to Arts Council England and Arts Council England Emergency Response Funding.
VAP CIC has formed a working group to explore, consult and develop opportunities for community engagement with visual arts, further networking and purposeful partnerships, which this POP funded project is supporting. We’ll keep you posted!
