Published on May 23, 2024 by bawer

Velvele’s new podcast Queer Diaspora Talks with the support of Manchester Metropolitan University, MMU Contemporary Intimacies, Sexualities & Genders Research Group, and UK Research and Innovation, talks with LGBTQ+ activists & artists from Turkey who continue their struggles in other countries.

In the fourth and so far final episode of the series, Yener Bayramoğlu (London) and Bawer (Barcelona) host Gazino Neukölln, a music group founded by queer immigrants from Turkey.

The band members talk about the relationship between music and activism, the difficulties of being an immigrant in Berlin, and how agendas in Turkey and the genocide in Gaza have affected their lives.
