Vimium C v2 is coming and will turn to the Apache-2.0 license
Published on July 16, 2023 by Dahan Gong

Hello all, an exciting thing is Vimium C v2.01 is in development and will be ready in the end of 2023. I'll try my best to make it support the new "Manifest V3" web-extension platform on Chrome and Firefox, although the "injection" feature will be severely restricted.

====

And another important change is Vimium C v2 will turn to the Apache-2.0 license. The old code is still under a current MIT license, while all new changes will use the new Apache-2.0 license if only they're made for the gdh1995/vimium-c repo's "master" branch and since 2023-07-15 AD.

The goal of this license change is to allow me to:
1. publish a new paid version of Vimium C extension which will get more frequent updates and better performance on latest versions of browsers
2. and keep updating the current Vimium C extension on stores with different building flags - it will support much older browsers, at a cost of lower running speed and slower version updates

If you have some ideas, suggestions or even complaints against this license change, please let me know by opening GitHub repo issues and sending private emails to [email protected] / [email protected] .
