Thank you for supporting vinOS.
About
vinOS is an agentic operating system for founders, innovators, and thinkers.
It runs on any x86_64 machine — the laptop you already own, the workstation your OEM shipped preloaded, or the server in your closet. A single MIT-licensed ISO boots to a working Wayland desktop with local
AI, developer tooling, and a curated bundle system out of the box. No cloud dependency, no subscription, no lock-in.
Why sponsor
vinOS is built and maintained by one person. Sponsorship funds:
- Hardware coverage — testing and driver work across real machines. The 2019 Intel Mac (T2 chip) is verified working; Framework, StarLabs, ThinkPad, and generic x86_64 are next.
- Local-first AI — a curated model picker, tested Ollama bundles, and the integration work that lets a founder run a coding assistant on their own laptop without a cloud bill.
- Docs, onboarding, and demos — install guides, audience-targeted walkthroughs (developers, homelab, Mac owners, privacy), and video captures from the real ISO.
- Time — sustained focus on releases so this doesn't stall behind a day job.
What sponsors get
Everything ships free and open. Sponsorship is patronage — you keep the project running for everyone. In return:
- Listed as a sponsor on vinos.computer and in the repo README (with permission)
- Priority on issues you file on GitHub
