VISE 2022 What's Update
Published on December 20, 2022 by Chris Onuoha

Greetings! We are excited to present you with VISE's very first update.

What did you accomplish during 2022? How did you use money?
This year, we started VISE, an initiative focused on providing resources and education necessary for fostering regenerative waste practices and resilient, community-based food networks and systems in metro Atlanta. We spent this year researching and planning in preparation for a fuller launch next year. In October, Open Collective Foundation officially became our fiscal host, which enables us to receive tax-deductible donations. However, we did not raise nor spend any funds this year.

What challenges did you face during 2022? What did your Collective learn? How did you change or grow?
Our major challenge this year was moving from the ideation phase to creating concrete plants for our initiative's implementation. As we planned for VISE earlier this year, we investigated different legal structures. We discovered that fiscal sponsorship was the most ideal for our goals. Finding a fiscal host that would be a good fit with our initiative was our most difficult task this year.

What are your plans for 2023? Anything exciting coming up?
We are very excited to launch our projects tentatively in the summer of 2023. We are gearing up to do so and will be sharing updates as our launch approaches.
