How VOICED began

VOICED officially launches on Open Collective today, but the project itself began earlier.

In October, we hosted our first VOICED networking event, a small, informal gathering for early-career creatives to connect without the usual pressure of competition or self-promotion. The event confirmed something we already felt: there is a real need for spaces where creatives can meet, share, and exist without having to perform.

That experience shaped what Voiced is becoming. We’re building a community-led initiative that prioritises creativity as play, curiosity, and connection, not metrics or comparison.

Our first project, VOICED LGBTQ+ History Month Art Gallery, grows directly out of that first event. It’s an evolving space for early-career creatives to share work freely, experiment, and create in a supportive environment.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be developing the Gallery, opening up ways to participate, and sharing more about what’s next for Voiced. We’re excited to build this together.

Thank you for being part of the beginning.
