Urgent Update: Changes to Donation Process and Our Path Forward
Published on March 7, 2024 by Sharell Jarvis

Dear community,

We hope this message finds you well. We are reaching out to inform you of a significant change in our operations that will impact your ability to continue supporting Ward 5 Mutual Aid. Open Collective Foundation (OCF), which has been a critical partner in our financial infrastructure, is dissolving. This dissolution requires us to make significant adjustments to how we receive donations, impacting our ability to sustain our vital work in the community.

As of March 15th, 2024, we will no longer be able to accept donations through OCF, and recurring donors will be unable to continue their contributions. This abrupt change poses challenges to our grassroots structure, but we remain resolute in our commitment to our mission and our community.

Ward 5 Mutual Aid operates as a grassroots collective, and your contributions have played a pivotal role in our ability to serve our community. Through your generosity, we have been able to provide essential support and resources to those in need. Your dedication has made a tangible difference in the lives of many, and for that, we are sincerely grateful.

We are actively exploring alternative avenues to sustain our operations. If you know any organizations that might be a good fit please send them our way!

if you have any questions or wish to offer your assistance during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]

Thank You!
