August update: 18,000 frontline workers helped!
Published on August 20, 2020 by Ellen Y Kuwana

Hi everyone!

I admit it...I got tired, so I've slowed down on delivering food to frontline sites. August has been a time to recharge a bit.

I'm still delivering Starbucks coffee, Midnight Cookie Co. cookies, Essentia water and Mighty-O donuts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Do let me know if you know of a frontline worker who needs a treat! Lately I've been driving to the mobile COVID-19 testing sites and getting workers there water, etc.

I estimate we've gotten food and drinks to more than 18,000 people so far. I'm not sure what the future holds for this project, and I'm giving myself some time to figure that out.

The highlight of this project has been meeting and becoming friends with restaurant owners, people who have offered to help (Signe Burke), and people in the community (through Facebook pages such as Seattle Minority Owned Support)--it takes a village!

Thank you again for helping We Got This Seattle show appreciation to those who are hard at work keeping us all safe!

Sincerely,

Ellen
