IMPORTANT: 3/14 Last Day for OC Reimbursement/Donations
Published on March 2, 2024 by Amanda Barone

*LAST DAY FOR OPEN COLLECTIVE REIMBURSEMENT OR DONATIONS IS MARCH 14*

Dear Neighbors,

Earlier this week, West Brooklyn Waterfront Mutual Aid was alerted that the Open Collective Foundation will dissolve by the end of this year. As a part of their wind-down process, THE LAST DAY THAT WBWMA RUNNERS OR DONORS WILL BE ABLE TO SUBMIT FOR REIMBURSEMENT OR DONATION IS MARCH 14. Apologies for this sudden notice.

We are working quickly to find a solution to continue financial operations under a new fiscal host, collaborating closely with CHFG, Gowanus, and Red Hook Mutual Aids to understand which platform will best support our missions going forward.

Stay tuned on Slack for a poll to select a date for our next All-Hands to discuss. If you are unable to attend but still want to help/offer opinions on the move, feel free to slack Finance (Amanda Barone & Tamiko Kamara). Please let us know of any questions as well.

In solidarity,
West Brooklyn Waterfront Mutual Aid

This organization has $24,000 for mutual aid but they reject my request to turn my electricity back on. This is not mutual aid. The person sits from a privileged space.

The next time the news is out here about the immigration shelter I am going to make it a point to tell them how horrible your organization is and how you did not help me

Do not donate any more money to this organization because they are not answering community back and declining any request from neighbors

I think it’s ridiculous how you say to email you and you don’t respond back. I also think that paying Erica $8,000 and you can’t even help me with $500 is ridiculous
